Look of the Week

This week has flown by too quickly! I've been wanting to start a weekly "Look of the Week" post so today I'm going to talk a bit about the wearing organic Jewelry.
Mother of Pearl
Jewelry made from Mother of pearl falls in the group referred to as organic jewelry -- jewelry that originates from a living creature, plant or organism. Mother of Pearl is the common name for iridescent nacre, a blend of minerals that are secreted by oysters and other mollusks and deposited inside their shells, coating and protecting them from parasites and foreign objects. Although pearls are popular today, some past cultures regarded colorful mother of pearl as a more desirable component for jewelry and other objects. People have been creating & wearing jewelry and home accessories for centuries using this naturally found product.

Here is a close up of the inside of an oyster shell &
the iridescent NACRE used to make Mother of Pearl.
Here is the top of an inlaid Mother of Pearl finish for a tile.

Mother of pearl is semi precious and very collectible which also means it can be a bit pricey. That being said, I'm going to now tell you that
Every week we are having a "Designer Deal"
& this week it is the Maya Earrings.
It'a a mother of pearl earring that has been etched with a Rust resin into this beautiful circular flowing motif design and accented with golden Brass metal.

Here is a close up of the Maya Earrings our Designer Deal of the Week.

What is always great about Sara is that she gets that people like different colors and different metals so after I show you the Maya Collection, I'm going to also show you the Calypso collection that is the same design on Mother of Pearl but with a Amazonite resin etching and silver metal accents.

Some of both of these lines will be retiring soon, as we will be having a whole new Sara Blaine at Willow House Fall/ Winter Collection debuting October first. SO I encourage you, if you like something to buy it as it may not be around forever & if you are like me, by the time I decide that I want to get something, If i waited it will be gone. I know I'm a pretty picky person and if i like something I should buy it.

Open Your heart and Share the Love!

It's Inspiration Monday …

YES! Open your heart and Share your LOVE!

I need to put this disclaimer out there~ I am a Positivity Junkie. I love to read inspirational messages that have a short, but sweet & sometimes sappy message to them. If they have a visual, I usually upload it to my Inspirational photo file. Plus I follow people who have pages and blogs about this type of thing.

I think what I'm trying to say is that I want a connection to this kind of thing because it makes me feel good and if you take the message that you are looking at and repeat it to your self for the week, it usually has an impact on you and your outlook on life.

Some people call it a Mantra, devotion, meditation or other various words to repeat silently or out loud to yourself. This is thought to have an effect on you on both the conscious and subconscious level.

So find an inspirational message and tell yourself that message this week, then see if it has a positive effect on you!

Mine for this week is: Open your Heart & Share the love!
Profound words put in classic songs by Queen and the Beatles & I'm sure many others too.
Have a great week & I'll be posting soon!

PS. Thanks for the great Artwork: www.facebook.com/Positivity toolbox
Such great messages. Follow Them.

Monday's Inspiration

This week just remember to tell yourself:

Your Attitude is directly affected by your thoughts." Change Your Attitude, Change Your Life!" has been my mantra or affirmation for a few years now. I say it to my kids & Brian all the time whenever they seem to be having a moment of self doubt.

The older I get the more I really understand this. It also affects your outcome, if that makes sense. There are a lot of self help books & Tapes out there. Someone that really helped me was Dana Wilde the creator of The Mind Aware. She has a series of tapes/mp3 that are called "Train Your Brain" series that I bought. It is really a great series to listen to and learn from. What's nice is the beginning has quite a bit of information to absorb but she has broken it up into less than 20 minutes each lesson. I've had the series for almost 2 years now it took me a while to get through but you really can train your brain. Saying a simple thing such as " It's going to be a Great Day!"

When it's Summer…
Take some time to enjoy the sunshine!

It should be mandatory for everyone to take a week off and enjoy the sunshine in the Summer! There is something about having some freedom and down time to stop and smell the roses, or in my case the day lilies or water lilies or any of my perennials that happen to be blooming in my yard. It reminds me of my childhood when it seemed like you could just plop down on the grass, view up at the sky & see whatever you saw in the clouds.

It's been a little while since I've taken the time to write on this blog, way overdue in fact for someone that loves reading writing and expressing themselves. But sometimes that road we travel called life gets in the way and it is best for an expressive person to make some private time.

Right now, there are lots of great things for me to be excited about and so it is now time to share my joy and excitement again.

Here are a few of my recent beautiful things growing in my world and of course if it inspires me, I hope that it will inspire someone else too!

Style Trends for Holidays 2012 & Spring 2013

I know that I like to stay on top of the lastest trends in Style.  So a few weeks ago, I put together a "Jewelry Style trends for the Holidays and Spring of 2013" Flyer for my Sara Blaine Jewelry business with Willow House. I went through some of the fashion magazines as well as I went searching on the web to websites in the know such as Jewelry of America and several other top googled fashion trend reports out there.
So for the next ten days I'm posting on my Facebook business page a Style tip to know aboutwww.facebook.com/Pamatwillowhouse1

For myself I feel that whether your are younger or older, you can still be a Style force in your circle of friends. Nothing makes you feel better than knowing that you are wearing what is considered "In".  So for you all my followers, Keep up with me on both of my pages as I post a style trend for you to learn.

Remember that with my company, we have this awesome Customer Program called "Nifty Fifty" as well as Hostess Rewards that makes it really easy to save. I'm going to save that for a post another day or click on my link above to find out how you can get a discount and save.

Day One: Wear a Statement Necklace & Earrings

Style Trend One: The Number One Style Trend for the Holidays & Spring 2012 is "Wear a Statement Necklace & Earrings." A spectacular piece of jewelry is a great investment and makes the perfect gift. Isn't this beautiful? It's one of the prettiest necklaces we have to offer right now and a definite statement piece. Pink looks good on everyone.  We also have a slightly smaller one as well.
This is a photo of the large Aubree Necklace. The Large necklace has a 13.5 karat ink Tourmaline Quarta stone that has been handcut in this beautiful mosaic pattern. heres the link if you have to have it! better yet, make a wish List and send me your favorite person who buys for you information. I'm happy to be Santa's Helper.

This necklace has a 8.5 Karat Pink Tourmaline Quartz stone, hand set in these beautifully detailed prongs as well as the stone itself is a mosaic cut that just absolutely sparkles. It's pretty special and it's something that you can absolutely wear every day!

Inspiration can come from the Most Unexpected Places

Inspiration Monday originally posted at DesignSpark!
Life gets busy sometimes. I haven't meant to be the blogger who has NOT been blogging because I love it, but it's a busy time for me. That being said, I am sure it is a busy time for you too! If you are reading this, Thank You for following along. If you are not a follower, Think about it. I promise when I do post, to make it worth your while and give you some to to either inspire or learn from.
Today I am sharing two things.
This is a photo from my phone taken of the crocus that were blooming in my yard from last year. This year, the first one started peaking out yesterday, when we had 80 degree weather. Today it's 59 & rainy.
First a picture from my yard last year. I love Spring because it's when everything that has gone dormant and it comes back to life. I love the bright colors and everything turns green  or is blooming. This year, although Easter is pretty late, so is Spring. My fear is that it might go right into summer, with the weather we had yesterday.

The second is a website that is more than just a website. You will understand what I mean when you go and check it out.
It is called: Stumbleupon.com.
It literally takes you on a rollercoaster ride across the  web. You sign up and tell them your interests, check any subjects that might interest you. My Alyssa was the one who actually made me sign up for it. I did NOT want to do it and she told me that I had to. Let me tell you, when your kids TELL you that you have to do something, you do it.
This website is so inspiring! I love photographs, quotes and inspiration among other things. as you hit the button that says "Stumbleupon" it takes you to websites that have content that is related to what you have listed as categories that interest you. After you look at the site you can either click the "Like" button or go stumble upon another site.

Yesterday, I found the perfect site for me this week.
It was called, www.Highexistence.com
and the title of the post was
I am always looking for tips to make life better. It seems to me that the older you get, the more honest you get with yourself. You don't always know the answers to everything and it is helpful to read what helps others and most likely it will help you too.
Well, got to go- say a prayer for Alyssa today as she has to go in for some outpatient surgery today.
Have a Great Day!
