Look of the Week

This week has flown by too quickly! I've been wanting to start a weekly "Look of the Week" post so today I'm going to talk a bit about the wearing organic Jewelry.
Mother of Pearl
Jewelry made from Mother of pearl falls in the group referred to as organic jewelry -- jewelry that originates from a living creature, plant or organism. Mother of Pearl is the common name for iridescent nacre, a blend of minerals that are secreted by oysters and other mollusks and deposited inside their shells, coating and protecting them from parasites and foreign objects. Although pearls are popular today, some past cultures regarded colorful mother of pearl as a more desirable component for jewelry and other objects. People have been creating & wearing jewelry and home accessories for centuries using this naturally found product.

Here is a close up of the inside of an oyster shell &
the iridescent NACRE used to make Mother of Pearl.
Here is the top of an inlaid Mother of Pearl finish for a tile.

Mother of pearl is semi precious and very collectible which also means it can be a bit pricey. That being said, I'm going to now tell you that
Every week we are having a "Designer Deal"
& this week it is the Maya Earrings.
It'a a mother of pearl earring that has been etched with a Rust resin into this beautiful circular flowing motif design and accented with golden Brass metal.

Here is a close up of the Maya Earrings our Designer Deal of the Week.

What is always great about Sara is that she gets that people like different colors and different metals so after I show you the Maya Collection, I'm going to also show you the Calypso collection that is the same design on Mother of Pearl but with a Amazonite resin etching and silver metal accents.

To check out both collections you can go to my website and put the collections' name into the search bar & see the entire lines. Some of both of these lines will be retiring soon, as we will be having a whole new Sara Blaine at Willow House Fall/ Winter Collection debuting October first. SO I encourage you, if you like something to buy it as it may not be around forever & if you are like me, by the time I decide that I want to get something, If i waited it will be gone. I know I'm a pretty picky person and if i like something I should buy it.

Also if you want more than one piece of any of our Sara Blaine Collections, make sure that you contact me so that I can work my VIP Nifty Fifty Customer Pricing. It'a fabulous program that let s you take advantage of simply put, the more you buy, the more you save! This is great for gifts and bridal parties or just now taking some time to change and upgrade your look and wardrobe. Look for a post on this soon!
